Dr. Halim Abou-Faycal is certified in Infectious Diseases Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Since his graduation from medical school in June of 2000, Dr. Abou-Faycal has continued to pursue advanced training in internal medicine and infectious diseases medicine.
He practiced at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Tennessee, where he rose to Senior resident. In July of 2004, Dr. Abou-Faycal began his fellowship training in infectious diseases at The University of Texas-MD Anderson Cancer Center, during which he received specialized training in treating infections in bone marrow and solid organ cancer and transplant patients.
His practice took him to Colorado from 2006-2009, where he was attending physician in internal medicine and infectious diseases at Sterling Regional Medical Center.
Before coming to Willis-Knighton Health System in 2012, Dr. Abouy-Faycal served as Chairman of Infection Control and Medical Director for the infectious diseases department at St. Edwards Mercy Hospital in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
He lives in Shreveport with his wife and two children.
